It's a bit windy!!!

It was torrential rain this morning so we waited until it stopped before setting off down the last lock for a couple of days.  It soon brightened up and was nice and sunny but it was VERY windy, making it hard work getting away from the bank every time we had to stop at one of the many swing bridges on this section.

We don’t normally use our bow thruster much, but today I was so glad we’ve got it as otherwise we’d have had to moor up and wait until the wind dropped.

We passed this in a field. It looks like a reproduction of a medieval dwelling under construction.

This is a canal-side map which shows our route to Liverpool.

We’re now moored just outside Scarisbrick Marina. It’s quite a new marina but looks to be less than half full.

Scarisbrick Marina - lots of empty pontoons
